The newest manga tankubon volume six of Naoe’s Seishun x Kikanjuu/青春×機関銃 (Blue Spring x Machine Gun) confirmed the rumours of its adaptation into anime series on its wrap around. The story is a gender bender survival game action comedy and launched back in 2012.

It first started as one of the three one-shots created by debut mangaka NAOE for Gangan Online on 28 July 2011. After it gain enough response, another two parter sequel published in GFantasy on 18 June 2012. six months later, the manga was upgraded to a full blown regular series on GFantasy.

The story is about a high school student Hotaru Tachibana, a girl pretending to be a boy. Through strange circumstances and a twist of fate, she finds herself in the world of survival games (airsoft guns) with  host, Masamune Matsuoka. The duo form a team with hentai manga artist Tohru Yukimura to be the best team in Japan later on.

So far, no news on release date, animation studio, production staff or casting is out yet. It looks like a fun, odd combo of survival game with gender bender  genres. The fact it survives into six volumes of tankubon mangas and got adapted into anime series means it is a pretty successful run. So what do you think of this, comment below and let us know.
