Ao Haru Ride (Blue Spring Ride)
Now on to something a little lighter and way fluffier. Though we’re not the biggest fan of Io Sakisaka’s art but she does have a knack for romantic stories packed with angst. Besides with Production I.G in the animation driver’s seat, you’d be sure that animation quality is going to be top notch. The plot starts typically (as in all romantic manga/anime) in middle school, with friends Futaba Yoshioka and Kou Tanaka parting ways without resolving what could have been the start of their first-love romance. Flash forward a couple of years and they meet again in high school as completely different and stubborn personalities, leaving us, the viewers, hooked on seeing if Yoshioka and Kou will ever get their happy ending.
A must watch for: Any fan of the sappy, slice-of-life, romantic genre
