A special exhibition titled “Love Live! ~µ’s meet The Powerpuff Girls” will be held in the Parco Museum at third floor of Shibuya Parco building in Tokyo, Japan. It features characters from the highly popular Love Live! School Idol Project anime/game franchise and Powerpuff Girls combined.
It is held to commemorate the 15th anniversary of The Powerpuff Girls premiere on Japanese TV.
The exhibition will display artworks of the Love Live! characters in styles inspired by the Powerpuff Girls while showcasing the history of the Love Live franchise. The exhibition will even sell few merchandises using this hybrid of character art styles.
First episode of the American cartoon was aired in Japan way back in 2001. Then in 2006, an anime version of The Powerpuff Girls was made and titled “Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z” by Toei Animation with direction of Megumu Ishiguro. At the same time, a manga based on it was by Shiho Komiyuno ran in Shueisha Ribon manga magazine from July 2006 to June 2007. So the franchise has been in Japan for a pretty long time.
The admission-free event will be held at the Shibuya venue from 20th November – 7th December, then Hiroshima (December 12-27), Sapporo (22 January -7 February) and Nagoya (February 11-28). So if you happen to be in Japan during those times, do check it out!
