Once in a while, there comes a manga that is minimalistic in its art but delivers a profound take on life through its witty artwork.
Nekomata’s manga is about a man who is portrayed as a dog (to be specific, as a Shiba Inu – a type of spitz breed from Japan) who works hard for the family, juggles between family life and the office, and struggling to keep both his wife and daughters happy.
The manga is witty and simplistic in its story and makes an easy read as compared to others. The artworks are simple, neat and yet elegant.
Definitely a comic worth reading while on the train to work.
Read it if: You’re a manga lover who is in his or her 40’s.
