With Netflix dominating the streaming market (at least in the US), we’ve seen it shift over to content creation. With awesome geek series like Daredevil and Jessica Jones, they’ve shown that they can get it right. Now they’ve set their sights on a new genre, anime and they’re pulling out all the stops for their first title Perfect Bones.
Why do we say pulling out all the stops? That’s because of who they’re working with. The new anime titled Perfect Bones, will be produced by Product I.G, which, if you’re not in the know, has had an impressive resume. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Attack on Titan, The End of Evangelion, Guilty Crown, these are some of the more familiar titles that you might be familiar with, all of which Production I.G has worked on.
So far there has been little details about the anime aside from the production company and director. There is minor description though which is still nothing much to go by. The anime is set in the future and involves scientists genetically modifying children to be super beings. Of course in the process something goes wrong. Then again, that seems like a general plot of many a manga/anime, so until more details are out, we won’t really know.
Perfect Bones will be 12-episodes and its director will be Kazuto Nakazawa who has worked on Samurai Champloo as well as Ashita no Nadja. On top of that he was also involved in the Animatrix as well as the animated sequence in Kill Bill.
No premier date has been set but we do know that it will premiere simultaneously in all countries with Netflix.
