Toei Animation has finally released the full trailer for the 15 annivessary, 6-part movie series for Digimon Adventure tri. On top of that they also released a 2nd teaser/promotional trailer which also reveals the voice cast which includes a few new members to the Digimon team.
The new trailer shows the original Digimon team from the first season of the anime reuniting for a new adventure. The 15th Annivessary project was first announced () as a sequel to the anime series that will premiere in spring 2015. It has since been revealed that the anime will be a 6-part film project.
Although the original DigiDestined characters from the anime will be back, though the voice cast for them have changed. The new voice casts are: Natsuki Hanae as Taichi Yagami, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Yamato Ishida, Suzuko Mimori as Sora Takenouchi, Mutsumi Tamura as Kōshirō Izumi, Hitomi Yoshida as Mimi Tachikawa, Junya Ikeda as Jō Kido, Junya Enoki as Takeru Takaishi, MAO as Hikari Yagami.
The Digimon partners voice cast though will be the same guys from the original anime. On top of that, two new characters for the new film series and their voice actors have also been revealed. They are Daisuke Namikawa ((Rokuro Okajima in Black Lagoon) as Daigo Nishijima, a part-time teacher who serves as a substitute homeroom teacher for the DigiDestined, and Yuuko Kaida (Shimei Ryomou from Ikkitousen) as Maki Himekawa a mysterious woman who appears before the DigiDestined.
The first film in the series is titled “Sakai” (Reunion) and will be starting a limited three-week engagement in 10 theaters in Japan on November 21. That’s not all, the first part will also be available on sale on Blu-Ray and iTunes on the same date, though for the Blu-Rays, they will only be available in the theatres themselves. The retail copies and DVDs will only hit stores on December 18.
