Animeanime, one of the premier Japanese anime industry news site recently conducted an online survey/poll from 26 – 31 August this year to see which anime series deserves the sequel treatment.
13, 572 readers participated and about 80% of them were female which is a very interesting phenomenon. This is in tandem with the increasing buying power of Japanese female as outlined here in this fascinating Al Jazeera documentary. Looks like the anime industry is no exception from this social/economical movement.
Anyway, the poll is divided into female only, male only and overall aggregate. All respondents were asked to pick their top three choices out of 30 listed series.
