9. Free! Iwatobi Swim Club
While sports anime have traditionally been a very male oriented audience, there have been a few that cut across gender lines and in this case, a lot more appealing to the female demographic. Then again, when it’s an anime about an all guys swimming club, well, there’s bound to be a fan service scene or two that’ll appeal to many a female fan.
That aside, Free! does a good job of bringing interest to a sport that’s even more unserved in anime than cycling, swimming, or at least the competitive side to it.
Why watch it?: Character development in this anime is pretty top notch and you really identify with characters. A good mix of school life drama and sports competitive spirit is also abundant to make the anime engaging.
